If your gate is standing open and will not close, this could be due to two things on the Spiderdoor side. Please follow the steps below to identify the issue.
- If the key on the left side of the keypad is turned clockwise, this forces the gate to stay open continually. For your gate to close, you will need to make certain the key is turned "counter clockwise." We call this key the managers override key!
- If the "latch open" command is clicked on, inside the managers dashboard, then the gate will stand open. If you check that the gate is not latched open and your gate continues to stay open then do the following step.
- Open the keypad and completely remove the Spider keypad from your gate by unplugging the two relay wires (see yellow arrows below) from the relay labeled GATE. (Some models may look a little different but the relay will be labeled GATE. The basic principals of a keypad opening a gate is that when these two wires touch for one second or more, the gate will open. When these two wires are pulled apart (not touching,) the gate should close.
- This will remove the keypad from the entire scenario and if the gate doesn't close, then you have an issue with a sensor or loop on your mechanical gate side and not the keypad side.
If your gate does close when these two wires are removed and pulled apart, then feel free to notify us and we will help locate the issue further.
